Acquiring a new companion animal is a big responsibility,
and a commitment for the lifetime of the animal. If you are not
prepared to care for your companion through good times and bad,
please reconsider acquiring a pet. Pets take time, effort, and
patience, and will reward you 1000 times over. If you are ready
for a lifetime of love and furry hugs, please call us!
Thank you for considering a rescued companion animal. An $80 adoption
fee is required to adopt a pet from ARPO. This is a great value
considering your new companion comes with all of the following:
- All animals are vet checked for healthiness
- All animals will be up-to-date on age-appropriate
vaccinations
- All animals will be microchipped for their
safety
- All animals will be spayed or neutered
if old enough
| Microchipping is done through
the Home Again animal recovery system and ARPO uses the
veterinary services of Northside Animal Hospital and Ft.
Harrison Veterinarians. For
more information on microchipping, please click here.
Northside offers microchipping to the general public
for a fee of $40 which includes the enrollment in the
American Kennel Club (AKC) Companion Animal Recovery (CAR)
program. AKC-CAR maintains a national database and is
available 24-hours daily, 365 days a year. Please call
Northside at 317-846-2544 to make an appointment. Registration
in the CAR program is essential to the success of the
microchip returning a lost animal to its home.
Ft. Harrison also offers microchipping to the general
public for a fee of $33, but this does not include the
CAR program registration fee. Please contact them at 317-546-2338
to schedule an appointment.

holiday weekends, from 12 noon until 4 pm. In addition, we hold

care, and will have the animal spayed or neutered by the time
he/she is 6 months old, if not neutered prior to adoption.

Note regarding out of area adoptions: Due
to the over population of dogs and cats across the country and
because of the importance we place on doing home visits, ARPO
limits placing its adoptable pets within a 60 mile radius of Indianapolis.
