Gracie
(formerly Pixie).
I have to share something funny with you… Gracie as
we talked about kind of runs and hides but that is getting
better.. well Saturday we could not find here anywhere… we
looked all over.. we knew she was sleeping but she was not
under any beds, not in closets, so we started to panic..
well Bob went to get some socks and there she was in his
sock drawer.. that was her sleeping place since we let her
have free reign of the house. She climbed under our bedroom
dresser- up the side and into a drawer.. it was nice and
dark and cozy.. so that is now where we look when we can’t
find her but soon she will be too big to fit into that
space.. She is also getting better about not running away
from us.. she is just needing to get used to us and the
girls and the noise.. Her and Lucky are getting along really
well.. Sunday they slept all day.. it finally caught up with
both of them.. it had been a long week and they had spent so
much time playing that they were so tired.. Lastly- Gracie
did actually sleep at the foot of our bed last night - so
she is getting used to her new home.. Thank you so much… we
made a great choice.. |

Bix
and Benny.
These kitties have been here for four days and are
settling in quite nicely. Benny was affectionate right away;
Bix took longer to warm up to me, though at his initiative,
we're now touching noses. I love these sweet cats, and
they're glad to be here. Many thanks to their foster parents
for caring for them, and getting them socialized - and to
the people who rescued them - and to ARPO. Linda |
Kili
(formerly Blizzard), Blue and Keoki (formerly Butch).
I adopted Blue in 2008, and a year later adopted the two
babies after having to put my 18-year-old cat to sleep. My
remaining kitty is 13 and had no problems adjusting to Blue
-- it's taking her a bit longer to accept two energetic
babies running around, but overall we're doing well. Blue is
very sweet and patient with the kittens, and Kili and Keoki
are just as happy as can be. |

Gracie
turned 9 in January and she is doing great in PA ! We had a
snow storm over the weekend of 24 inches and Gracie had fun
playing in the snow! Gracie is happy and healthy and we love
her more than we could ever have imagined!! We adopted
Gracie from you when she was 1 1/2 years old and she has
been spoiled rotten every since! She is still the queen of
the house and intends to keep that title!! The Fischers |

Our
family adopted the beautiful Rose
(formerly Addie) on March 14, when she was almost 3
months old. Since then, she has doubled in weight and has
truly become a member of our family “pack.” Her sweet
disposition and her willingness to train make her a pleasure
to have in our home. She loves chewy toys and squeaky toys;
especially, she loves our eight-year-old son. In return, he
adores her, except on those infrequent occasions when she
sinks her little needle teeth into him. She loves to assist
in soccer practice, to chase leaves, and has been known to
indulge in a worm or two after the rain. We don’t encourage
this, but, then again, she is a dog. We look forward to the
moment when she is completely housebroken; she’s not quite
there. According to our vet, she will grow to be 55-60
pounds—more to love! It has been less than a month since she
joined us, but she has already brought us so much happiness.
She greets us with a full body wiggle, and it melts our
hearts. Thank you ARPO! The Condon Family |
Layla
(formerly Phelps)
Our little Olympian came to us in Sept. 2008 and is
now almost 10 months old! She is such a little baby, loves
cuddles and sleeps with Mommy & Daddy every night. Her best
friend is our cat, Betsy, who I can't necessarily say
reciprocates that love. They wrestle a lot. She does tons of
tricks, was completely potty-trained within 3 weeks of
having her, and is very obedient. She desperately wants a
playmate so we'll probably be getting another dog in the
near future, she loves to play with other dogs in the park.
She has brought so much joy to our lives and we are so
grateful we got the opportunity to adopt her. Thank you so
much everything! Kira D. Frazee |

Hi,
I’m Parker Dog (formerly Parker Man).
I’ve been in my forever home for about three weeks now, and
have been on walks, car rides and played with two boys who
come to the house every week. There are two cats here too,
but so far we’re doing a good job of ignoring each other.

Payton
(formerly Ruthie)
I adopted Payton (formerly Ruthie) in Feb'09 and I could not
be happier! She is wonderful! She is named after Walter, AKA
Sweetness; not Manning... ;-) And wow is she sweet! Her tail
never stops wagging. She even wakes me up sometimes in the
middle of the night while she is dreaming because her tail
is going a mile a minute! Copper, my 8yr old lab, has
re-found the puppy in himself and they get along great!
Payton cried at the window for a good hour after Jody
dropped her off, which goes to prove how good ARPO are to
all their rescues! Thank you Jody and ARPO!! -Julei |
Chloe
(formerly Thunderball)
We adopted our puppy Chloe in September. She is almost a
year old now and has been
the perfect addition to our little family. She is the best
pet we could ever ask for. Chloe warmed my heart the first
day I met her by plopping right down into my lap and
cuddling up to me and to this day she continues to warm my
heart and brighten our home! We were so lucky to find her
and we continue to recommend ARPO to our friends and family! |
Dash
(formerly Lambda)
We adopted Dash (aka Lambda) on April 4, 2009 and cannot
imagine life without him. From the moment we saw him on
petfinder we just knew we had to have him. We cannot believe
how much he has grown in the short time we have had him. He
is such a big baby and we love him. I cannot thank Naomi at
ARPO enough for being such a big help and letting us give
Dash a loving forever family. Thank you! |
|
Howie
We started out as Howie’s foster parents and before we knew
it we were in love with this little guy. Our little pit bull
baby is such a great ambassador for his breed! Now going on
9 months, he has proved many people wrong with their
preconceived assumptions and stereotypes about pits! He
loves going to the dog park and also going to work with his
mommy so he can play with the kids. Howie is the perfect
addition to our diverse pack of 2 humans, 3 dogs, and 1 cat
J Thank you ARPO for bringing Howie to us and all of the
great things you do to help dogs in our community find their
forever homes! Megan and Josh |
Gypsy
Having adopted Penny from ARPO in the summer of 2005 as a
playmate for our black lab mix Nikki, we knew where to turn
when looking to add another dog to our family. We lost our
beloved Nikki in April of 2008 to bone cancer and needed to
find a playmate for Penny. Gypsy fit the bill. She is a very
energetic dog and gives Penny all she can handle. She can be
quite "hyper" but aims to please wiggling her whole backside
in excitement waiting for us to throw her toy. Recently
moving to Pittsburgh for a job change, we still want to
thank ARPO back in Indy for helping us find our two best
friends, Penny and Gypsy! Don't worry Colts fans, our dogs
don't care much for football! Thanks again, Don and Heidi
Adamov |
Sam
(formerly Choctaw of the mud puppies)
Sam is now almost 3-1/2 years old and still precious as the
day I brought him home. We recently had to move my aunt into
an assisted living
apartment and Sam is getting to put his CGC (Canine Good
Citizenship) training
to use. We have started visiting my aunt and going over to
the
nursing home side of the complex as well. Everyone there has
welcomed us with
open arms and are impressed with his very laid back
disposition. He has a
little issue with the walkers and strollers, but will get
used to them as we continue to visit. We will be going back
at least every other week to put smiles on faces. |
|
Balboa
We adopted Balboa only a short time ago, but already he has
changed our lives in so many ways. He was the only survivor
of his litter, and the name Balboa is so appropriate. We are
so excited to come home everyday and see him wagging his
tail. Balboa loves to play with his toys and house slippers.
He also loves to go on walks and watch all the kids playing.
He is doing so well in his training, and learning to love
the kitties. We are so glad that we saw Balboa at the Pet
Smart on 82nd street. We have a great addition to our family
and we are so thankful for ARPO. Thanks, April and Randy |

Laverne
(formerly Lavernie)
I was adopted from ARPO. I am a
typical beagle, which means I put my nose to the ground and
just keep on going. It was important for me to find the
best home for me and after being returned (one or two times)
to ARPO, my foster mom adopted me. She is glad she did and
could not live without me now! I take a lot of special
attention as I get my feelings hurt very easy and need to be
close (really close), which is why I think some of the
families did not choose to keep me. I am glad because I
love my foster mom and trust her completely to care for me
forever! Submitted by my Grammy |
Harper
(formerly Dee)
I adopted Harper (formerly Dee) a couple of months ago and
couldn't be happier! She was the first dog I saw
while ARPO was at PetSmart and right away I knew that she
was the little pup that I had been looking for! She
adjusted very quickly, has learned several new tricks, and
is completely housebroken! She is such a sweet puppy and has
a calm yet playful disposition. Harper also has a lot of
people and other dogs to play with in her new neighborhood
and loves to go on walks! Thank you so much ARPO! Amanda

Miss
Bailey
The offspring of rescued mom Ginger, was
adopted from ARPO in April 2006. Life with Bailey is a joy
-
she's is the perfect weight lose program and companion.
She's survived her first winter in Chicago and can't
wait for long summer walks along the lake. Miss B. is
everything a dog should be! We're so grateful for ARPO.
Miss B. says Woof - Thanks for finding me a home!
Rachael and Nick |
CiCi
(formerly Casey)
CiCi was brought to her new home June 29, 2008. We fell in
love with her the moment we set eyes on her. She is such a
great addition to our new home. She is 8 but you would never
know it. She is as playful as a puppy and as loving as they
come. She is also very patient with our 15 year old Min Pin.
She is always happy to see you not matter if you left for
the day or for just ten minutes. We are so pleased that we
found ARPO and that we could give CiCi her forever home.

Pepe
I adopted him in May 2001. We celebrate both his birthday
and our anniversary every year. He's brought so much joy to
my life. He's spoiled rotten and rules the house. He's my
first dog, and I know he won't be my last. But, he'll always
be the most special one. Everyone tells me he is very smart.
I always thought a pet would just be a pet, but he is my
baby. I have become a crazy dog lady. I spend all my money
on toys or treats for him or books about dogs or t-shirts
with dogs on them for myself. Grandma bought him a Storm
Defender cape since he is afraid of storms. He loves his
cape. He comes to me and asks me to put it on and about an
hour later it begins to thunder. He still doesn't love
storms, but he can tolerate them and come out of the
bathroom if he has his cape on. He gets to visit his mom,
Lucy, about once a year when I go out of town and he stays
with her and Sherry and Jerry. |
Boudreaux
(formerly Redford)
We adopted Boudreaux (formerly Redford) in August of 2007
after immediately falling in love with him at Petco. Bou has
the sweetest disposition and a great big personality that
charms every one he meets. He is highly intelligent and has
been a complete joy to train. He loves to show off his
tricks for company. He even rings a bell totell us he wants
to go outside! Bou loves every person, cat, or dog he meets.
Boudreaux was a part of the "junk yard" pups that were
rescued so we know that his great personality and
socialization is due to the wonderful fostering and
attention he received from ARPO. We are so greatful for all
of the hard work and love that ARPO puts into their animals
and we are incredibly grateful that he is a part of our
family. Mark and Jennifer |
Jinxy
We contacted ARPO after our one of our beloved hounds passed
away. Having another Greyhound in the house meant that we
faced challenges in regards to adopting another pet. We
contacted ARPO after researching the pets offered on the web
site. We were very specific that we needed a younger dog who
would not only fit our family but be a companion to our
remaining hound, who was showing signs of grief and
depression. Not long after our application, we were
contacted about Jinxy, a young sheltie mix male. Upon
arriving at our house, Jinxy dove right into our house,
wasting no time licking faces and dancing around our
Greyhound Emma. Soon, he and Emma were running laps in the
yard, with his little legs trying to keep up with her long
strides. Since his arrival, we have all had a much needed
boost. Jinxy has provided us with an endless source of love
and energy. On any given day the floor is littered with well
worn stuffed animals and tug toys. At night, Jinxy wastes no
time securing a spot between our legs in the bed, uttering a
contented sigh. Our life is not lacking for comedy as
bathing alone is a thing of the past, It seems our little
Jinxy is not above treading a little water to secure a last
minute nuzzle from his family. He excitedly loops our legs
in tight circles when we return from the smallest absence,
letting us know just how much we were missed. He
enthusiastically reminds us the most important lesson of
all: Love endures all things, and is apparently not afraid
of water. :-)
We cannot thank the volunteers at ARPO enough for
introducing us to this little furry jester. He is a force of
nature and yet a loving and attentive dog who has brightened
every corner of our lives. We are all the better for knowing
him.
Sincerely, Sandi, Ray and Eric Loffer (Emma and Jinxy) |
Sasha
Hi, my name is Sasha.
That's what my parents named me after they adopted me from
ARPO in February 2004, when I was about 6 months old. At
first, ARPO called me September and my brother, November, I
guess. That was long ago. Now I'm 5 years young. Probably
boxer and bull-terrier mix. I'm so happy and spoiled now. I
share the love and care of my parents with my sister Shadow
and brother Macka who is little bit different. That's
maybe because he is a cat. I love to chase him until he
jumps on furniture, where I'm not allowed to. He knows he is
safe there and laughs down at me. Then I go to chase
squirrels instead in our big back yard. Mummy takes us for
walks in the woods or to the dog park every day. We can
either play or heel. Yeah! I have to obey sometimes
too. I think I make a good girl, though still timid to
strangers, but once I check them out and they are good,
we're buddies. Life is good!! |
Cooper (formerly
Rex)
We adopted Cooper,
formally 'Rex' a little over a year ago. We would like to
deeply thank ARPO and Cooper's foster mom for all the hard
work and money that was put into fixing this wonderful dog!
ARPO decided that even though he had hip dysplasia in both
hips, he was worth the money and effort to fix him. And they
were right! He is a wonderful dog! Very loving and loyal.
And he feels so good now that his hips are better! He loves
to run and play at the park and even likes to play on some
agility equipment! He gets along with all 2 and 4 legged
creatures and he LOVES to snuggle. Everyone who meets him
instantly takes a liking to him. Recently he got sick and
had to spend a couple days at the vet's office and they
didn't want to give him back! The tech told me he had lots
of new aunts and uncles there. Thanks so much for bringing
us such a special dog. Keep up the great work!! -Anthony and
Courtney

Maggie
May (formerly Kara)
Hi! My name’s Maggie May! But my parents call me Maggie Moo,
or Moo Moo, or just plain “Roo”. I like to carry toys in my
mouth and wag my tail so hard my butt wiggles and my head
wags side-to-side, too, as I proclaim “Rooooooooooooooo…
Roooooooooooooooo”! I guess my name used to be Kara… but I
barely remember that name. I was found wandering in Anderson
and picked up by the pound… thank goodness the nice people
at ARPO sprung me from the joint in time! I now live in the
country on 60+ acres shared by 2 neighbors. My neighbors are
2 Bird Dogs and 1 German Shepherd. We always meet at “Poopy
Point” to catch up with each other. But my VERY BEST FRIEND
is my brother, Hunter, a handsome yellow lab who was also
“rescued”. Oh, and I have 3 cats that I don’t mind sharing
my bed with. My hobbies are Bugs, Birds, and Rodents. Oh,
and rolling in cowpies. Life is good! Mommy ‘n Daddy keep
telling me I hit the Powerball, whatever that is. So, just
wanted to say HAY and thank ARPO for my 2nd chance!
Sincerely, Her RooNess, Maggie May. |
Aragorn (previously Henderson)
We adopted Aragorn (previously Henderson) in January 2006.
He's doing fabulous and we love him to pieces. Curiosity was
too much for us and we did a test to see what made up his
goofy self. Here's what we found out. He is 36-74% German
Shorthaired pointer. And he's 10-19 each of the following 4
breeds: Border Collie, Chinese Shar-Pei, Labrador Retriever
and Welsh Pembroke Corgi. Whodathunk it, huh? Thanks so much
for our wonderful goofy spastic German Shorthaired Border
Chinese Retrieving Welsh Pointer. Shari, Erin and Erika

Harper
(formerly Tonya)
I adopted Harper in February 2008. She is the greatest thing
that has come into my life. When she first arrived, she was
very scared and wary. Now she is silly and a part of the
family. She has gone through a novice training class and
graduated 7th out of about 70 dogs. She is extremely smart
and has more personality than most people I know. Her
favorite thing is playing with our other dogs, playing ball
in the backyard, and sleeping on my bed. I am so grateful
ARPO rescued her from a bad home and I cannot be more
thankful. She is truly one of my best friends. |
Just wanted to share with ARPO some new pics of Dakota & Chloe. They are both very happy & healthy.
They are definitely "brother and sister". We are all grateful to ARPO for bringing us all together! For anyone who reads this, ARPO is the best place to
adopt a new family member. Cheryl & Gary Williams
|
|
We adopted Samantha (formerly Spagoo) in July and we are having a wonderful time with her. She's doing great with her obedience training, and is overcoming her shyness around people. She loves to play with Daisy, our cairn terrier, and is discovering her hound voice. We enjoy her everyday and are so glad that we were able to adopt her. Jason and Natalie
|
|
We adopted Lily in November 2004 to be a companion to our first dog, Logan.
Ever since, our lives have been touched by this wonderful dog. Lily loves to snuggle, give kisses, and get her belly rubbed. Thanks to all of the wonderful people at ARPO for making sure Lily found a family that loves her!

Just wanted to give you an update on Chloe (border collie adopted in April 2005). She is a wonderful dog and loves to play and play and play. Chloe is the sweetest dog and is spoiled rotten. We just love her and she continues to bring joy to our lives. Cheers,
Rachel Wallace

It has been almost 2 months since we got our little Honey (who is not so little anymore) from ARPO. She was greeted by her big sister Ginger and they have been inseparable ever since. She is doing so well in her new home. She is getting less and less shy every day and makes us laugh at how she chases her own tail. We call her our newborn colt because she is all legs! We wanted to thank you for Honey and let you know that she is very well taken care of! Thanks again, Jake and Sara LaForge
|
|
We adopted Charlie (formerly Puddles) from ARPO last fall. She brings so much joy to our lives and makes us smile everyday. Being a pug/beagle mix, she is the best of both worlds < a snuggly baby and a good athlete! Thanks so much for bringing Charlie into our lives.
Nick and Laura Rowlett |
|
We adopted Sadie (formerly Marina) when she was three months old in late March 2005. She is now six months old and doing spectacular! She adapted to our home very well and has taken up a couple new hobbies; boating, fishing and going to the races. Everyone that meets her falls in love with her. We love her to death and don't know what we would do without her!
Mindy

|
We adopted brothers Popeye (now known as Joe) and Prancer (now known as Black Jack) at the end of February 2005. They are doing great and love to chase each other and us around the house. Lots of fun and lots of energy. Thanks, Kate and Lance
|
|
Bianca, formerly Butterscotch, has moved from Indiana to Michigan now.
She's enjoying exploring two acres of woods with her sidekick Baron, a miniature dachshund. Bianca enjoys watching the deer and barking at the bunnies. Thank you again for helping us find her. She's an incredible addition to our family. Suzie and Matt York

|
I wanted to send an update on the "queen" of the Grossett household. Maddie has been the best addition to our family than we could ever have imagined.
Maddie was rescued from the side of a road after the poor puppy had been hit by a car. In the attached picture, we had her dressed as a pumpkin for Halloween, 2004. Don and I cannot give her enough love. She definitely gives back more than we give her. Thanks to everyone at
ARPO that helped with Maddie. We will love her forever. We will continue to support
ARPO for everything that they do for dogs & cats. Don and Lou Ann Grossett |
|
We have now had Dakota with us since May 1, 2004 and he is a perfect dog. Very obedient, gentle and affectionate. We would not trade him for anything. We just adopted Annie (renamed Chloe). She is so much fun and has really come to bond with Dakota. They play, sleep and eat together. Enjoy the pictures and thanks again to you and Sally for everything! Cheryl and Gary Williams

Butters is doing great. He is training us well. Everyone he meets falls in love with him!
So cute! The photo is from the very first day he came home.
Sincerely, Gena

Bailey (formerly Venus) is doing great
now. She is getting along great with the other cats and
they even help us keep her ears VERY clean, for some reason,
they think she needs a bath every hour!! They play very
cute together, play hide-and-seek, and now insist on sleeping
practically on top of each other. It really is precious
and I just love her to pieces!! Thanks for letting us
adopt her, she fits in very well here and the boys (the
cats) love her like a little sister. Stephanie

Well, Silver has crowned himself King
of the estate! He surveys his territory chasing out squirrels,
bunnies, birds, and the occasional cat. He has made it
clear, in no uncertain terms, to the visiting dog next
door that this is HIS YARD! Don't even think about coming
over, touching the fence or (heaven forbid) expect my
human to greet/pat you! I brought my folks up for the
weekend. It was love at first sight, for all parties involved.
Silver and my mom bonded immediately. He climbed up in
her lap and showered her with kisses. My brother and his
family (16, 13 and 10) visited on Sunday. Silver was shy
at first, but once he learned that the 10 year old was
a source for receiving kisses and giving hugs he was on
a roll! What a joy he is. Thanks so much for bringing
him to us!!!!! Dea Szatkowski

We recently adopted Oscar (aka Costello)
from ARPO. He has been a blessing to us and great little
brother to our other adopted dog, Spencer. These little
guys are like two peas in a pod. They play from morning
until bedtime, and Oscar has also helped Spencer get over
his fear of his kennel. We can't thank everyone enough
for bringing Oscar into our our lives. It was a very pleasant
experience working with your board member, Kelly, and
we will not hesitate about recommending ARPO to others
seeking to adopt a pet. Stacey, Steve and Spencer |

This is our favorite picture of Boone
(actually we have renamed him
Copper) playing in his favorite spot-under the couch!
He is doing very well. He has adjusted well to our house
and to us. He is learning to sit and lay down and to shake.
He is so smart! We will continue to keep you updated on
his progress. His New Parents, Jacki and Eric

Abby (formerly Monica) is a joy and
as much in love with us as we are with her. Thank you
for saving her!

It's been a year since we added Ebony
to our family, and we can't imagine life without her.
She is sweet, gentle, devoted and generally obedient,
except for the occasional sofa-sitting and snack-stealing.
We all enjoy her, including cousins, aunts and uncles...even
our cats have learned to put up with her never ending
attempts to get them to play. Thank you so much for taking
Ebony in so that she could find her way to us! Keep up
the good work!

We thank you for our Sierra, who was
"Diamond". You see she loves her newly adopted
brother, Sam. The Wright family

Franklin is just a wonderful boy. If
there are any faults...it's because I spoil him! He's
such a sweetie! Franklin is as tall as Emily now...and
doesn't seem to be stopping! Emily and Franklin play together
so well! I'm so glad we found Franklin. Kellie

Hi, my name is Camey and we adopted
a dog about 1 1/2 years ago, Gracie, and I just wanted
to tell you that everyday of our lives we are so grateful
to have Gracie in our home. She is the sweetest, best
dog in the world. She has made such a difference in our
home and we are so happy that we walked into PetSmart
that one day and saw beautiful Gracie! You are a wonderful
organization! Thanks again for bringing Gracie to us!! Camey Fischer and family |
|
We adopted Rudy (aka Zeke) almost a
year ago. We can't imagine life without him! One of his
favorite things to do it to lay in our warm clothes right
out of the dryer, as you can see from the photo. He has
came so far...now he can run the house all day by himself.
He is a lap
dog and loves belly rubs and cuddling on a blanket. He
loves car rides, too! Thank you ARPO! Wendi Groce and Sam Lough

Behold the cuteness! The little puffball
with the raccoon face is recent ARPO adoptee Tyre, who
has now been renamed George. The older dog is Sarah. Beth

Wanted to let you and the ARPO organization
know that Mickey (a.k.a. Prince) has settled into her
home very well. He is always at my side when I'm home,
probably because I spoil him a lot. As you can see, Mickey
has taken over the top of our couch, and he stays there
most all day, until I get home from work.. Thank you for
allowing us to have Mickey.... Sincerely
John Diener

I adopted Sophie 3 years ago I believe,
maybe 4... She's doing well. Has lived in Indianapolis,
Tennessee, and now we're back in Fishers. Healthy as a
horse... a little on the chubby side by a few lbs. - but
on
the way back down to average. Can't wait for Pictures
with Santa!

Maverick (Major) has brought us nothing
but joy! He loves to give
kisses and always wants to be right next to us. He's very
smart too!
He's learned to sit, lay down, roll over, and shake. But,
his favorite
thing to do is jump in our lap! He is so good when we
take him on
walks. He likes to "visit" with people along
the way, but he doesn't
bark or whine at anyone. He just wags his tail hoping
he'll get some
more attention. We love him so much! He is definitely
part of our
family. Cara and Chad Fowler

"I adopted two of your kittens,
Pickles and Calista. They are both
doing wonderful and we love them to death! The picture
I'm sending of
them is when they're being "princesses." We'll
pull up a chair and put a big pillow on it right in front
of the fish tank and they'll lay their for hours, perched
on their little thrown. Thanks so much for bringing these two
sweeties into my life!"

Our new sweet addition is Opie, formally
Toto, who was Bijou/Flea's brother. He is the most laid
back and lovable kitten I have ever seen. He is always
at the front door to greet you and then lays down for
you to pet him -- then the purring starts. Opie has an
older sister Maggie who is 5 months old and a younger
brother Macaulay who is three months old. The three are
constantly running and chasing each other through the
house -- then you will find them curled up together. We
love all three and wouldn't part with any of them -- all
three came from three different shelters. I can't express
how much joy he has brought into our home.
- The Royers from Lafayette |
We adopted Isabele "Bele"
(known to APRO as Blossom) in 9/02. I just wanted to let
you know how well she is doing! It is amazing how bright
she is- we have trained her to sit, high five, high ten,
wave, twirl, spring, touch, do push ups! We are working
on sitting pretty and having her off the leash w/o running
away like a mad woman! We can't picture our lives w/o
her or before her- she loves to cuddle and follows us
around the house all the time. She and our other dog,
Phoenix are pals. Cara and Josh Bach

Cosette, previously Maria, was rescued
by ARPO from the Morgan County Humane Society in December
2002 with her 4 puppies. She had been physically abused
at some point in her life and was terrified of people.
She ended up in emergency care with coccidia, mange, round
worms, heartworm, and dehydration. It was a struggle for
several months, but she made it through! She was adopted
in April by a couple named Matt and Vicki. With their
soft-spoken voices and gentle touches, Maria is quickly
coming out of her shell and is an amazing success story! |
We wanted to thank you for the wonderful
addition to our family. This picture was taken by our
vet when we took Flea, ( formally Bijou ), to get her
second round of shots. We absolutely love our kitten.

Amber and Jasper (formerly Bambi and
Mojo). They're both great dogs. We got Amber first, and
then we got Jasper as a companion to her, and we haven't
regretted it once. Thank you all for the work you do and
for the great additions to our family!

"Jasmine is the best dog in the
wide world :) We're all crazy about her. I don't know
what I'd do without this dog now. She has been great,
a joy." Jackie

"This is Mia, a FIV positive kitty
that ARPO fostered for a year. Mia came to me in June
of 2001 and is doing just great! She's just about the
most loving cat I've ever known. She loves to sleep with
me and my husband. She'll climb up on our laps for a little
loving, too, when we're watching television. Mia loves
having her ears smoothed and her rear-end scratched! I
feel so lucky to have found Mia. She is the best cat!
Mia is a happy, healthy (if not a little plump) cat and
that we love her very much!!" - Amy Worgan |

Merlyn and Marvin were adopted
together in March 2000. They were two of the cats abandoned
in an apartment who have since found a wonderful home. They
write, "Thank your for all your care and help.. .You
saved our lives and provided a new one." They look
like they're enjoying their much-deserved new lease on life! |
