Wrigley (Formerly Jaquar)
We adopted Wrigley (formerly Jaguar) back in May and couldn't be happier! He makes our lives so much more fun and interesting. His favorite game is to chase us around the apartment and play with his football. Thank you so much for bringing Wrigley into our lives! Keep up the fantastic work! - Brad and Erin

Hickory and Queenie
Hickory and Queenie joined our family in May. They have been a wonderful addition. Hickory (the cat) is a furry ball of attitude. She loves pestering and irritating her "big sister", Queenie. It's hard to believe someone didn't want Queenie. She is such a good pup. She fits in perfectly. Thanks ARPO for taking care of the girls until we adopted them.

Sophie (Formerly Cougar)
Sophie, formerly Cougar, is growing up so fast! In this picture she has discovered that she now wants a pet rock for herself. She loves this rock and plays with it for hours outside. We are still madly in love with the Sophie-dog and love taking her with us wherever we go. Thank you so much for such a great dog! - Corey and Megan

Grady
We adopted our pit puppy Grady a few months ago; he's been a great addition to our family. He is such a great dog and is a good representation of the American Pit-bull Terrier. Carrie at ARPO was great to work with and helped make this adoption possible.

Joey
Joey started life as the runt of a litter of corgi-mix puppies. When we first saw him, he looked more like a mouse than a puppy, but he quickly grew into this beautiful little dog. He is a funny, affectionate guy who fit right into our pack. He is the one who makes our foster dogs and puppies feel welcome because he is always ready to share his toys and romp in the yard with new friends. He made us all proud by placing 2nd in his basic obedience class! We love him so much and are very happy we decided to add him to our family! John and Shirley

Lloyd (formerly Darin)
We adopted Lloyd (formerly Darin) last year and it was one of the best decisions we've ever made. We knew he was the dog for us as soon as we saw him. He has grown up to be quite a handsome fellow and he's definitely the world's best dog! He is so loving and super sweet. Lloyd is also ridiculously smart. He learns new tricks and commands on the spot. He loves the dog park, running with us on the Monon, and camping trips. He definitely loves our active lifestyle! He also loves snuggling up to us at bedtime. Best of all, he loves us as much as we love him. - Thanks so much! Linda and Alex

Violet
I adopted Violet in December 2005 just a couple months after one of my dogs passed away. Zeke (my other dog) was eager for a new playmate when I adopted Violet, but Zeke and I got so much more than we ever could have imagined with our Princess Violet. Despite the rough condition she was found in and being deaf, with the love and care her foster mom Carrie gave her Violet blossomed into an incredible little girl! Not only is she such a sweet, loving dog, she is so much fun and full of life and the boundless boxer energy. She truly just loves life! Violet learned sign language and basic commands and has done well with those. Zeke and Violet are totally inseparable. I just can't imagine life without my Princess Violet!

Tony
We adopted Tony just over a month ago. We've been married over 5 years and have talked about getting a dog for a long time. It turns out we were waiting for just the right one. Tony is awesome! He is such a sweet and lively addition to our lives. He's smart, playful, and eager to learn about whatever we're doing.  He loves introducing himself to any interested party. He's a great jogger, although he would prefer sleeping in. Tony has been enhancing our lives since he first trotted through our door. He's charmed our socks off (and hid them all over the house). Thanks very much to ARPO (especially Carrie) who worked very hard to bring Tony to us healthy, happy, and potty trained. We really couldn't be more pleased with him and we won't ever forget how much help Carrie has been and still is. You made adopting Tony one of the easiest things we've ever done. - Joel & Becky

Petey (formerly Holstein)
Hi! Remember me? I used to be Holstein (Holt) but my new family thought I looked a lot like some dog off the Little Rascals (whatever that is...) so they named me Petey. Anyway, I have been with my people now for 7 months and I am having a blast. When I first got here I sure missed my rescue mom Sue, but soon realized that she left me with some great people!
There are two cats here for me to groom, a little girl that likes to ride her bike with me on my walks almost every day (she doesn't like to go out in the rain.... go figure), and two big people that I think have grown pretty attached to me. Thank you for believing in me and nursing me back to health... without you none of this would be possible. - Love, Petey

Jack (formerly Radar)
Who could not love this boy!! I adopted Jack (formerly Radar) in July 2004. He is the best dog in the world! he loves to walk, roll in some of the most disgusting things he can find, sniff out dead, rotten animals, try to catch every squirrel, chipmunk, or rabbit he can, even though he knows he can't catch them. Every day is an adventure!!! He is such a sweet and loving little boy and a great kisser! Thank you - I love him dearly!! - Nancy

Bruno
Bruno came to us as a puppy who was very unsure of us and his new environment. From the very beginning he would give kisses, play and want to be around Ali, our 4 year old daughter. As time went by, Bruno started getting used to his environment and started warming up more to my husband. He seems to have always warmed up more quickly to women. He is quick to give kisses and to snuggle with us. He loves his walks and plays often in the backyard. The funniest think that Bruno does on a regular basis, is smiles at us. He started doing it to my husband, Glen, first. Glen would come home and Bruno's upper lip goes up to reveal his teeth. It seriously looks like he is happy and smiling. We think it is soooo funny. He has been a real joy and has become a huge part of our family and a great playmate for our daughter. - The Johnston Family

Murphy (formerly ReeseCup)
Murphy (formerly ReeseCup) is the newest addition to our family - we just can't imagine life without Murphy. We spotted him on the ARPO website last August and what a great find he was! As you see, he is the center of our lives and a newly converted Colts fan! We can't thank ARPO enough for helping us find such a great dog! We're so thankful, in fact, that we have become new foster parents for ARPO; so Murphy is now helping initiate other dogs into the "good life." We hope we can help others complete their families with great ARPO pets just like we did! Thanks from all of us - Steve, Holly, and Murphy

Sheldon
We adopted Sheldon about a year ago when he was about 10 weeks old. He adjusted to his new home very quickly and to his new pal, Lamont (our Lab Mix). Sheldon is so smart and is always ready to play. He enjoys our big back yard where he is on constant watch for anyone that might join in on his fun. Sheldon had a big adjustment when we brought home our new baby girl, Emma. Sheldon is so quick to come check on her when she cries and sits near her when she is sleeping. Thank you to ARPO for connecting us with such a great friend! ~Matt, Meghan and Emma

Bo (formerly Spud)
I adopted Bo this fall and I have found a wonderful companion. Some members at ARPO went above and beyond to help me adopt Bo (thank you Carrie). Bo is such a blessing - he is my little clown that makes me laugh every chance he gets - he is also the best little cuddle bug. He loves going on small road trips to visit his many friends, canine and human. He greets all of his friends with a big smile and a wiggly butt. Bo graduated from puppy kindergarten class this past November and will continue his education in February. Bo has been such a great addition these past three months = I cannot wait for the many more we have together. Thank you so much ARPO for saving this little guy. I appreciate all of your time and effort put into him and our adoption. Thank you again! - Carlee and Bo

Gordon (formerly Traylor)
We adopted Gordon as a 9 week old puppy. He is the most amazing dog! He is incredibly smart and thinks he's people. He has so much character! Gordon loves to watch some TV shows but doesn't like  others. He loves the outdoors, to go swimming in the lake, to play in the snow, or roll in the grass. He loves to learn new tricks and seems to invent new ones as well. He dresses up for Halloween and wears Santa Hats at Christmas (he even gets excited when we take his costumes out of the box!). Gordon truly has brought so much happiness and laughter into our home and has made us a family! It's been an amazing two and a half years... can't wait for MANY more! Thank you so much for uniting us with this wonderful pup, whom we love as a child and always will. We can't thank you enough ARPO! - Marissa and Chris

Snoopy (formerly Sullivan)
We are having such a great time with our little guy Snoopy. He's doing great with potty training and goes to the door when he has to go outside. Snoopy can Sit, Stay, Shake, and knows what Bedtime means. He's such a SMARTIE! He's in love with my husband and cries to get to him. He's also great with our son. Snoopy's favorite game is "Ice Cube Hockey" in the kitchen and fetching toys. Last weekend we went to the park and walked trails and played with kids at the playground. He was exhausted from chasing leaves and carrying every stick in sight! Having him is just what the doctor ordered. Guess it really was time for the family to have a pet. -Thanks from the Parrish family

Buffy (white lab mix) and Angel (rottie shep mix)
We adopted Buffy "the Vampire Slayer" in July of 2005 and Angel in January of 2006. Buffy came to us as a smart energetic puppy who loves to give kisses and Angel came as a shy reserved "Mud Puppy" of 4 months who only weighed 15 pounds. The weekend he came home with us he gained 5 pounds! They are both the cutest and sweetest dogs I have ever had. They are both doing well, and in the future when we get a bigger yard hopefully we can adopt another pup to join their pack. - Jerry and Mandy

Paolo (formerly Palermo)
I adopted Paolo last December and we just celebrated his 1st birthday. We are having a great time and I am so grateful to his foster mom for the great start she gave him. Paolo gets along great with all dogs, the bigger the better, and he is the showoff of the neighborhood with his gorgeous shiny coat. He took to training well as a puppy and we are now starting some "teenager" reinforcements. Thank you everyone at ARPO, you are doing fabulous work. - Leah

Flicka (formerly Sheba)
I adopted Flicka 7 years ago as a puppy. It was love at first sight when she crawled up in my lap and gave me kisses. The next day, she and her new brother, Lucky, played for two hours straight. Lucky wasn't quite sure what hit him because Flicka is a very bossy and opinionated lady. After lots of training and treats over the years, Flicka has become a delightful girl and no longer completely annoys Lucky. She has earned her CGC and is competing in the new dog sport Rally-Obedience. She doesn't have any points yet, but she loves competition and the special time with mom. Currently she is also in training to be a therapy dog. At 7.5 years, Flicka doesn't look or act a day over three as she spins, leaps, and sprints for joy at the rally trials. She has learned to be more polite to her brother and in the past year a new baby boy came to live with us - a deaf American Bulldog named Morrison. She has been a wonderful, funny, challenging, and very adorable girl. Thanks ARPO for your commitment to our homeless animals! - Karen Scott

Sam (formerly Choctaw)
Sam is almost 2 years old already and is almost 80 pounds!
He recently graduated his 5th level of obedience training and received the ribbon for the CGC (Canine Good Citizenship) which makes us now eligible to do volunteer work at hospitals and nursing homes. He really enjoys camping and the outdoors (as long as it is not too hot).

Sunny
We absolutely love our Sunny! She is one of the best dogs we have ever had and she fits in so well with Hannah and Pedro. She and Pedro (see picture - Sunny on the left and Pedro on the right) fight and play like brother and sister... then at night they lick and love on each other... it's so cute. Thank you for your big heart and for taking care of such a precious dog. Every morning we feed Hannah and Pedro at about 6:30 am while Sunny sleeps in. Then she'll get up a little later, go outside to go to the bathroom, come right back in and then have her breakfast. Then the QUEEN is up and ready to rule the house another day. Again, thank you so much!!

Buckeye (formerly Ben)
We love our mixed beagle hound, Buckeye (formerly Ben), and are sending this picture from his first birthday. He has been a great pet for us and he tries to protect us by keeping our backyard safe from squirrels. The squirrels have learned to play with him and have never experienced anything tougher than his bark. Buckeye has been a great pet and we are lucky to have him. He hates wolverines and gators worse than squirrels and is our companion during football games! Thanks for your great work, ARPO, and the chance to adopt our little buckeye.

Cooper (formerly Bartholomew)
Cooper has nearly doubled in size since we got him in January - and now weighs about 40 pounds. He looks like a mini big dog! We have quickly turned into crazy dog people! Cooper enjoys his nightly walks so much that we cannot say the word "walk" - even in normal conversation - without him going nuts. He also loves his weekly trips to the dog park, where he stalks and chases after all the bigger older dogs in hopes of having them play with him. We honestly can't imagine a nicer dog, and always remark about how lucky we were to find a dog with such a great personality and disposition. Besides being the most affectionate dog we've ever known, Cooper is smart, playful, and great with all the neighborhood kids - even the little ones! Thanks for all that you do ARPO! - Jessica and Kyle

Ellie (formerly Cherub)
Ellie is doing so wonderful and is proving herself to be an excellent family dog every day! She is a thick-headed, strong dog I must say and fits in quite nicely in getting into as much trouble as the kids! Or maybe she learned from the kids :) Ellie is so smart and it looks like she has a bit of shepherd in her as well. Her favorite toy is one she confiscated (stole) from our 2 year old's toy collection. It is a moving chicken that sings the chicken dance. After a week in Ellie's mouth and play the chicken looks like it's on its last leg but it continues to sing for her! Ellie and Emma love to share ice out of Ellie's water dish when we are outside playing. Nothing like sisterly love! Thank you ARPO for giving us such a wonderful family pet! She will only continue to become more and more wonderful as she grows. - Cori

Betsy
"Betsy Boo" is having the time of her life ... and so are we! We've fostered kittens for ARPO and hoped we'd find a match in one of their foster dogs. It was love at first sight when we saw Betsy. She wrapped her paws around my neck in a big doggy hug that melted my heart. The rest is history! Her feline siblings (Cocoa & Reese) would at first only tolerate Betsy, but now actively engage in play. We'd forgotten what it was like having a young dog in the pack. Nala's gained renewed zest for life, and is happily trying to keep up with our new, very spoiled family member. We hit the jackpot with Betsy and she's a definite KEEPER! Thanks ARPO -- the Pinkerman/Munden family.

Godiva
Since being adopted I have been enjoying life with my new family! Every day, when my girl grabs her backpack, I get so excited because I know it is time to go to the bus stop! At the bus stop, my job is to make sure that every parent and kid gets to pet me at least once. At night I love laying beside mom on the couch. I love playing with dad in the yard - his favorite game is "on your mark, get set, go". I then amuse him by flying around the yard as fast as I can.
For Halloween, my girl dressed up like Super Girl and I had a Super Dog cape that my mom and dad made me. Last month, my mom took me on a long trip to visit my girl's great-grandma in the nursing home. Everyone wanted to pet me! I wanted everyone to pet me! It worked out great. I even went to work with my dad one afternoon.
Last Sunday, I went to church and was in the children's sermon. They talked about how you know who you belong to. I love my life with my new family and they love me too! We certainly belong together. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to pick my new family. - Godiva (aka "Go Go") and my Shivers Family

Bullet
His ARPO name was Baron, but my last name is Fife, so now my puppy's full name is "One-Bullet Barney Fife"... Bullet for short. And he is as fast as a bullet too. And WOW that little boy can jump. He can clear almost 6 feet from a sitting position, but has yet to jump my 4 ft fence. He's a lover, not a fighter, which makes him a great pet, but not a very good watch dog. LOL! He has been a joy to have and share life with. Thank you again for finding this little guy a home in my heart! We will be best friends for years and years to come. - Keith

Max
Max (formerly Zippy) recently graduated from Puppy class! He was voted by a jury of his classmates as "Most Improved Puppy"! Max loves his daily walks and, with the warmer weather upon us, enjoys exploring the backyard. He still loves to snuggle and sleeps most of the day. Max is the star and center of attention no matter where we go; strangers and family members want to pet him and, of course, play with him. They love his natural ears and tail [and love his cute little face, which is getting broader]. - Joe and Courtney

Lilly
Lilly (formerly Zelda) is a wonderful addition to our family. We adopted her in January and she has quickly become queen of the house. She loves socks, slippers, peanut butter, and cottage cheese. We love her like crazy and have become so attached! We cannot thank ARPO enough! - Kyle and Audrey

Bronson
Bronson is doing fabulously and has already become a very important part of our family. We adopted him in November and today he went to the vet for his rabies shot and is in "excellent condition". Here is a picture to show how completely adorable he is and you can see from the photo that he has made himself completely at home - as he should. Thank you ARPO!! The boys and I adore Bronson and appreciate the opportunity you gave us. - Sarah

Puck (formerly Hayden)
Puck (formerly Hayden) came home to live with us on October 20th and we were immediately in love. He's only gotten more fun, more bright, and more delightful. He's also the cutest puppy that ever lived. (Not that we're biased at all.) He loves socks, his little bed, lying on the back of the couch, playing with our neighbor's dog, and peanut butter. And we love him like crazy! Thank you for this awesome puppy. - Stacey E. and Todd A.

Luke
One day my son said he wanted a cat - One that likes him more than it likes me. So, we went on ARPO's web site to look at cats. Luke and his sister were in need of a foster home. I thought - hmmm.... maybe we could become a foster for ARPO and we could foster cats and when he found the cat he absolutely had to have, we could adopt it. We became Luke and his sister's foster. We fell in love with them instantly. My son just had to have Luke. Luke had a major calming effect on my son - and I just couldn't say no. We not only gave Luke a new loving home, but he made our home much more peaceful. He is the King of the castle! He keeps our 2 year old lab and our foster puppies in check. Thanks ARPO!! We look forward to continuing to be fosters for your organization! - Dana and Joey

Spot and Oreo
After one particularly rough day at work, I decided that I needed to love a sad case as much as I wanted something to love my sad case. I knew of Spot. I had visited him many times. He, of course, stood out with his one eye. There was always that magic when one picks up that special cat, and I had it with Spot. Well, after that bad day of work, I decided to adopt Spot. At the time, ARPO was running a special where getting a second cat was a minimal additional cost. They also wanted me to take Oreo, Spot's brother. I did so happily. It's so warming, driving up to my house to see my kitties peering out the window waiting for me (to feed them). This summer I will have had them three years. In that time, I've taught Oreo how to roll over and Spot has taught me how to play fetch with him. They feel like they always have to be in the same room as me (except when they're hungry). Thank you ARPO. - Bryan

Benny (formerly Wheatley)
Benny is the best cat! He is so soft and cuddly. He still teases my older cat, Mimi, but she will not play with him. I have attached a photo of Benny enjoying our Christmas tree! - Joni

Bentley (formerly Steve)
I can't tell you how much we love our hound mix, Bentley.  Bentley has certainly made himself master of the farm, and he is in "dog heaven" here.  We have a big yard with plenty of room to run, and lots of farm animals so there are always good scents to keep his hound dog nose happy.  He is so sweet and affectionate - we love him dearly.  Thank you for all you do! - Kandi

Tyson (formerly Ziggy)
Tyson is a welcome and wonderful addition to our family. He joins his big brother and mentor Bug, a three year old, 200 lb. American Mastiff. Bug and Tyson get along very well. They curl up and sleep together, play together, and Tyson learns from Bug. A 200 lb., 3 year old Mastiff and an 11 lb., 11 week old boxer - so different, yet so the same. Along with their two cats - Max and Little Kitty - We have full and loving Animal House. Challenging, yet miles of smiles every day. - Steve and Tammi

Charlie and Jillian
Here is Charlie (3 legged beagle) and his buddy Jillian (brown shepherd mix). They all get along wonderfully here!! Charlie is doing agility now, and he is quite good! ha! Jillian is in agility too, but is more cautious about it. We love our babies! - Lindsey and Mark

Anubis (formerly Moses)
We adopted Anubis in October 2005, and it didn't take long to see why his foster mom thought he was so great! We know that it was meant be- he really doesn't get along very well with most other dogs, but he and his big sis Maggie are absolutely the best of friends! They tumble, bounce and play as they race through the house together- watching them is the best entertainment we could hope for! He plays the pesky little brother very well- when she's napping, he's been known to tug at her neck or legs, but my favorite is when he walks across her body to sit on her head. What a dog! He also snuggles and kisses her and lays his head on her back. When he wants to be let out, he lightly taps his claws on the back door, then turns and looks at me. How smart! When our exuberant boy sits still, he’s also a champion snuggler. He's great... We absolutely adore our awesome Anubis! - Laura Cisler and Eric Lewis

Wrigley (formerly Sammick)
He's grown up into such a handsome dog! He has been such a wonderful addition to our family. We cannot thank ARPO enough for all you do. We cannot even imagine life without Wrigley, he and his brother Murphy bring so much joy to our lives. They are so much fun! Thanks again to ARPO- you guys are the best!

- Patrick and Nicole Broccolo

Izzy
I adopted Izzy during the summer of 2004 from ARPO. She has been the best dog!! We walk frequently on the Monon Trail and she always has someone asking what kind of dog she is because she's so cute!

- Libby

Tabbie (formerly Boeing)
Here are some pictures of Tabbie (she was adopted in June 2006). Tabbie is a happy little kitty and she loves to play with Rusty ("Firecracker", adopted 3 years ago). They both are doing great and they get lots of love and attention. Thanks!

- Lisa

Nika (formerly Tuscany)
I just wanted to write and let you know how Nika (formerly Tuscany) was doing in her new home!  Nika is adjusting to her new home very well.  She loves running around the back yard and playing with our other dog, Molly.  The two dogs have established their boundaries and are getting along pretty well and earlier than I had expected.  We will begin Puppy Kindergarten soon.  Nika is very sweet, friendly, and likes to cuddle.  She seems to have a good temperament, and gets along with our dog and daughter very well.  Thank you for letting Nika become part of our family!  This Nika with her favorite blanket.  - Aimee Rawlings

Derbi
Derbi (previously Vina) has become a great addition to our home.  She has added so much to our lives.  We didn't know how much we were missing!  Someone found her wandering around and was kind enough to take her in.  We have people ask us "what kind of dog is that?"  We always proudly respond "dunno we rescued her, she can be anything and it's OK".  She is a fast learner and a lot of fun.  We love our Dog!  Thanks to everyone at ARPO - you've been great!  - Mike and Diane

Samba
When ARPO first brought Samba to me, he was a little shy and unsure of what was going on. He is blind. Twenty-four hours later he had mastered the floor plan of the house and the furniture placement. He loves his walks and he wrestles with Tiger, my cat, every day until Tiger has had enough. Samba's sense of hearing and smell are very acute. His favorite spot is on the couch in the family room, where he and Tiger snuggle or Samba and I snuggle. He loves to play with any kind of squeaky toy, big or small, and the louder the better! He loves to go to the Dog Park in Broad Ripple and is always attracted to and wants to play with the biggest dogs there. I am so in love with my new family member.  - Sharla Woods

Josie
I thought you might like to see some pictures of her since our adoption a couple of years ago. We came in on the weekend and found her. She is also a six toe. She is our baby and we just love her to death, she's a lap cat. - Sally L. Tyler

Lady (formerly Daffodil)
Lady (formerly Daffodil) came to us from ARPO in October 2005. Her foster mom said she never saw her, never heard her. The first week she hid in our guest bedroom under the bed. It took a couple of months for her to realize she is the queen of the kingdom. We are so lucky she lets us live here! Lady is not shy about requesting attention with her raspy meow. She has a distinct talent as a "fetch cat", bringing her favorite toy, a long shoestring to mom for play. No need for an alarm clock in the morning since Lady seems to know exactly when it is time to get up. She learned that 3 am is too early, but 5 am is just right. We truly enjoy Lady's company every day. Many thanks to ARPO!
- Louise Schmidt

Louie
Here's my buddy Louie. Where I work, everyone has photos of their kids on the back of their ID badges. I can't say that I have one anymore, as Jake has grown up to be a fine young man. I can't count the conversations that occur everyday at work, with co-workers, and patients that doesn't involve discussion about children, young or grown, and how they make us parents smile. And then there are the pet discussions- and they get even more sappy than kid stories sometimes. The best thing about having Louie's pic on the backside of my badge, is that I'm new at my job, and often find that I'm talking with a patient or their family, a doc, or staff, and they are looking at my badge for a name, and instead they see Louie. It kind of breaks the ice in a fun way. - Nan Hill

Mia
My husband and I had talked about getting a dog for a long time, but it wasn't until we saw Mia's picture on petfinder.org that we knew we were ready to adopt! Mia was found as a one-week old puppy whose mother had been hit by a car (they think). We have found that because Mia was bottle raised she tries to steal my daughters bottles and, as you can see by the picture, she steals pacifiers too (it is so cute!). She's a wonderful addition to our family. We are so grateful to her foster family for rescuing her! I would recommend ARPO to anyone looking to adopt a pet! - Rachael McCracken

Zuni
We adopted Zuni (formerly Seymour) this July and she has become a very important part of our little family. We are very happy that our newest ARPO addition Badger is adjusting to his new home as well. They both love to play for hours and then sleep very soundly (in our bed if they can get away with it). We also take them on lots of long walks/runs because they love to explore and use their hound voices. Thank you so much for introducing us to the world of dog ownership and they really are our best friends. Unconditional love is awesome! The Hudelson-Lakin Family

Penny
In August 2005 my wife and I adopted Penny. Our dog Nikki was lonely and Penny makes a great playmate. She is a very sweet dog and very playful. She has also made friends with, Cadbury, a cat we adopted in July from the animal shelter. Our other cats aren't too sure about Penny yet so they keep their distance. What is probably most remarkable about Penny (or sometimes ""Penelope"" if she misbehaves) is her facial expressions. Her dark eyebrows twitch when she is looking around the room. What Heidi and I love most is what we refer to as the ""head tilt."" Penny moves her head from side to side if she is confused. The more she turns her head the more confused she is. Penny will not win any awards for her IQ but she is a loyal friend and family member. As you can see in the picture she is quite spoiled with treats and bones!      - Thank You! Don and Heidi Adamov

Bob (formerly Ebony)
Bob was lost and managed to find his way into a good Samaritan's yard. Lucky for him, these people had a friend who knew about ARPO. His new owner Anna reports that Bob eats like a horse (hmmm - wonder if he's part Clydesdale?). His groomer reports that he's a wonderful boy - calm, cool, and collected. He also likes to play TAG! Bob stands on his hind legs and taps mom with his front paw. When she spins and claps her hands, he runs and hides, then will return to start the game all over again! Happy Holidays to Bob and his new friend Anna.

JoJo (Formerly Jinx)
I adopted a dog named Jinx (and I re-named JoJo) last year on Halloween 2004. JoJo and I had our one year anniversary last week, and I wanted to write and tell you how we'll she's doing! Warren, you and I spoke a few times on the phone and your suggestions made a huge difference. At that time, JoJo was biting me and acting aggressively at times. After following your guidance and graduating obedience school, along with a lot of loving care, she has become a GREAT companion. She's friendly, well mannered (usually!), and seems very happy with her life. Kelly, thanks to you and your husband for providing encouragement along the way.   - Thanks again -- Sondra

Moon (formerly Kinzy)
This is our dog Moon formerly known as Kinzy, and she has been a great addition to our family. We have had Moon for about six weeks now, and she has learned to sit, stay, lay down, shake with both paws, crawl, roll-over, and bow. Moon is an extremely intelligent girl who has also learned to ring a bell by our door when she needs to go to the bathroom. We love to take her on walks and play hide-and-go-seek around the house with her.   - Patrick Thompson

Zeke
Zeke found us at Petsmart in April 2004. My daughter and I were just wandering around and there he was calling to us. I had to baby-sit him for 6 weeks while Amy finished college, 4 hours away. He spent his first year as a source of love and comfort to my daughter as her fiancé was in Iraq and has become a wonderful brother to Jazzy, a lab cocker mix. When Amy and Ezra married, they had to move to Washington state so Ezra could finish his Army guard obligation and college. They looked everywhere for an apartment in order to take Zeke with them. There was none to be had in the price range they could afford. Amy was brokenhearted, her last goodbye was to Zeke, many tears were shed. Zeke has adjusted well with his 'grandparents' since this has always been his home. His 'grandpa' calls him 'punkin' head'! I have never seen such a happy dog. All you have to do is say 'Zeke' and he starts dancing around excited about whatever may be going to happen. Thank you Petsmart for letting Zeke find us.   - Leanne Franke

Honey
I thought I would let you know how my Honey (formerly Courtney) is doing, she happens to be the "Queen" of the roost! When she came to me in 2002, she was 10 years old, recovering from several surgeries needed to repair injuries caused by an attack by other animals in her home. She was very shy, scared and timid. NO LONGER! She is a wonderful companion to me, loves to play and hang out with me! Thank you to all the folks at ARPO for doing your part to help the animals in our world.   - Rosie Watson

Jessie
We adopted Jessie (formerly Java) last fall and we wanted to say on what a great dog she is turning out to be. Although she has a very headstrong personality it is part of what makes her so great. She is training well and is a fast learner. She has put more life into my older dog and they are best friends. You guys are doing wonderful work and I will see you again when I can take another dog in. Jennifer and Anthony

Nadine
Nadine (formerly Derby ) is doing great - definitely full of energy and acting like a puppy. She's chewing everything, pottying on the floor right after we take her outside; she's basically doing all of the normal puppy things. We're so glad that she made it through the parvo that these things aren't really bothering us. Thank you for all of your help and support as we worked through her illness. We've heard that other adoption agencies automatically put puppies who have parvo down. We're thankful that Nadine was given the chance to survive and live a happy life, and we're very grateful that ARPO was there to help us. Thanks again, Lauren

Bess
For a cat who hid under my bed for a whole week after adopting her, Bess has turned out to be a very affectionate and well-mannered cat.
She follows me everywhere I go and has turned out to be quite chatty when she wants affection. She's a great companion and becomes more and more social every week.     - Thanks! Matt Barton
